How one artist turned his love for the Arts into a local trend.
When is the last time you painted the town? Not sure what we mean? Well, there is a growing trend that has taken over the way many people choose to hang out and spend an evening with friends or that special someone. If you are ready for something that promotes not only moments of fun, team building, bonding and romance all in one, then you are ready to Paint the Town with Jarael Adams of Buffalo, NY.
Adams first became known to the StreetPoetz community when his talent for detail caught our eye and he was featured as one of the visual artists at our launch event in 2013. He prides himself on continuing to build and master his own skills, from what started in his own home studio years ago.
More recently, Adams decided to build on an idea that he fell in love with as a student, and decided to create his own twist here in the queen city. So instead of a typical dinner and a movie, night out with friends and family, book your seat to enjoy an evening creating your own unique painting, while bonding and making memories.
Upon beginning, “students” can rest assured that there is no scent of competition in the air. Instead, you are motivated into socializing while learning something new. Your reservation includes all of the materials you’ll need and direction is provided by Adams himself on the chosen piece of the night.
Paint the Town has grown so much that as of Friday April 10th, 2015, Adams and wife Arlene celebrated the grand opening of their own location right in the heart of the artsy Allentown district. This energetic event, which was open to the public, gave us a peek into the beautiful new space which boasts hardwood floors, high ceilings and Adams’ own artwork on display. Friends, family, and supporters enthusiastically showed their support and enjoyed refreshments and music from musician Toney Rhodes as well as DJ Bandana Black.
“We’ve grown from just about 10 people at our first paint party and now we’re booking two months in advance.” – Jarael Adams, Owner of Paint the Town
The Paint parties are open to individuals, groups, companies and other organizations – making it a creative idea for any upcoming function or occasion. You can expect to see them at their new home studio as well as Soho Burger Bar (64 Chippewa St.), The Oakk Room (1435 Main Street) or at your own private venue.
Paint the Town will include not only the continuing of the popular paint parties, but also: live model drawing classes, teen nights, open studio, gallery space for other artists, and other events as well. When asked where he sees the future of the studio he replied,
“I see the future of Paint the Town as a cornerstone in the art community in buffalo – a place where people can go with any art interest whether a buyer, hobbyist or beginning artist. Paint the Town Studio is a place where all artists are welcome from beginners to advance.”
No matter how you decide to spend your next date night, corporate event, girls or guys night out, make sure you consider making it even more memorable and Paint the Town!
