Akua Kamau-Harris, is a performing diverse Spoken Word Artist, writing workshop facilitator, and Community Activist. She has appeared on television, read for radio, and hosted her own radio program on WRFG Pubic Radio in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, she has performed and read her poetry on various university campuses to include: Erie Community College, Buffalo State College, Medaille College, State University of New York at Buffalo, Emmerson University, Atlanta University, Penn State University, and Concord College. Over the years, she has won several awards and grants for her writing however is most proud of winning the Toni Cade Barbara Creative Writing award in 1975.
