The Riverworks Artist Market

It wasn’t just about beer last night at Riverworks

Whomever said that there was nothing to do in the Queen City was sorely mistaken. Independent artists are taking over and collaborating across all genres.  The number of events taking place on any given day goes up with each emerging idea and if you are visualizing yourself walking through endless halls of works accompanied by hushed whispers and elevator music, think again!  Artists are taking it to an entirely new level which is what was witnessed at The Riverworks Artist Market organized by Ashley Kay yesterday.

What you have to truly appreciate about Buffalo, NY is the “artist appetite” because to be successful, you have to be hungry!  Creativity takes a great deal of discipline and there is a true advantage for the artist who is willing to branch out beyond their comfort zone, continually standing among other uniquely creative minds!

What I loved about this event in particular is that the quality of EVERYONE’s work immediately exceeds ones expectations. While we couldn’t visit and speak with each participant, we felt that it was important to do a little digging so that if you missed it, you can certainly follow their work online.  Those in attendance were:

  1. I seem to be a bit behind as I just read your article today. Because of Street Poetz battle of the brushes led me to this article, I am getting to see/learn about other artists and where I can see/participate in so many events.

Also since you are the driving force, I would like to just say thank you for providing so much for Buffalo artists.
